Screenshot printing large PDF's across multiple pages

Sometimes you have a PDF document larger than A4 and you want to print it but your printer can only print a maximum of A4 (or Letter for my US readers). Here's how to change settings in Adobe Acrobat so that you can print across multiple pages.

Example: You have an 8 page foldout map from your artworker/designer and you want to print it out to show your team for approval.

  1. Open the PDF in Acrobat - note: if the file isn't a PDF, you can convert it first (refer to my post on how to convert a document to PDF)
  2. File > Print
  3. Under page scaling choose 'tile all pages'
  4. You can also adjust to allow for margins by setting the 'tile scale' to 90% (adjust as required).

This should then allow you to print any large document across multiple A4 pages.

Do you have a better way to do it? Why not help others and post in the comments box below.
